How to Install a Dual-Lens Dash cam

  1. Confirm that the product, accessories, and necessary tools are all present.
  2. Connect the rear dashcam’s plug and the cigarette lighter power adapter, ensuring that the front and rear cameras and power supply are connected correctly.
  3. Begin routing the wires. Simply tuck the wires into the plastic panels above. A small scraper or even your bare hands can be used to gradually tuck the wires into these panels. Alternatively, you can remove the panels, insert the wires, and then reattach the panels.
  4. Now comes the most difficult step: two wires are needed. Connect the main wire to the main current of the cigarette lighter, and connect the other wire to the metal plate on the side. After soldering, wrap the connection with electrical tape.
  5. Connect to the fuse box. Test for continuity with a voltage tester before plugging it into the fuse box.
  6. The grounding point can be connected to a screw on the door sill trim. However, the grounding point is not limited to this location; choosing the door sill makes it easier to hide the wires.
  7. Use a scraper to gradually guide the rear camera wire to the top of the rear windshield, tucking it into the surrounding door panel areas.
  8. Remove the panel above the rear window. The wire can be routed through the hole.
  9. Install the camera on the removed panel, then reattach it to the car.
  10. Plug the rear camera’s connector into the display screen to see the rear view recording. Use the front and rear buttons to adjust and view the front and rear images. The dual-lens dashcam is now installed.

Features of Dual-Lens Dashcams

  1. The rear lens of the dashcam is installed in the center of the rear windshield and draws power from the rear fuse box.
  2. The rear lens of a dual-lens dashcam has lower resolution and a narrower angle compared to the front lens.
  3. Dual-lens dashcams require higher processing power from the chip. The chip is the core component of the dashcam and also the most expensive part.
  4. If the car’s rear window has dark tinting, the rear lens of the dual-lens dashcam will likely produce unclear images.
