How to Use the Rearview Mirror Dash cam

  1. Power On/Off:There are two ways to power on/off: a. Tap the power button to turn on, press and hold for 3 seconds to turn off; b. When connected to an external power source (e.g., car charger powers the device after engine start), it turns on automatically. When disconnected (e.g., after engine shutdown), it automatically saves recordings and powers off.
  2. Recording: The device automatically records upon powering on. Tap the record button to stop recording.
  3. Photo Capture: After powering on, the remote control automatically connects to the device via Bluetooth. Upon successful connection, the device will voice prompt “Bluetooth connected.” In recording mode, tapping any button on the remote control captures and saves an image.
  4. File Playback: Videos and photos can be played back via the app.
  5. USB Connection: When connected to a computer via USB cable, the device functions as a removable disk. Files can be played back, copied, or deleted directly on the computer.
  6. Gravity Sensor: When vibration is detected, the device automatically locks the current recording to prevent overwriting. (Note: Protected files will overwrite the oldest protected files once they reach half the TF card’s capacity.)
  7. Loop Recording: This product supports continuous loop recording without missing any footage. The loop interval can be configured in the app’s recording settings. For example, setting it to 3 minutes will save a recording segment every three minutes. When the card is full, unprotected files will be overwritten following the first-in-first-out principle.
  8. WDR: Wide Dynamic Range rendering provides greater dynamic range and image detail. This feature is disabled by default.
  9. Parking Monitoring: When enabled, the dashcam automatically powers on and records upon detecting vibration, then shuts down automatically after approximately 20 seconds.

Drawbacks of Rearview Mirror Dashcams

  1. Inconvenient memory card access: Many users report difficulty removing the memory card. However, since the card isn’t frequently accessed, this drawback has limited impact.
  2. May alter driving habits. Drivers who frequently check their rearview mirror may find the curved mirror lens of the mirror dashcam disruptive to their visual habits, as it differs from the standard flat mirror.
  3. Shared vehicle usage. When multiple drivers adjust the mirror angle, it can inadvertently change the dashcam’s recording angle.
