Installing a car camera (dashcam) usually involves several steps. Here is a brief installation guide:
Installation steps
1. Preparation
Choose the right camera: Make sure the dashcam you choose is suitable for your vehicle and has the required functions (such as front and rear cameras, parking monitoring, etc.).
Tool preparation: Prepare the tools required for installation, such as pry bars, screwdrivers, tape, etc.
2. Determine the installation location
Front camera: Usually installed in the middle and upper position of the front windshield to ensure that it does not affect the driving line of sight.
Rear camera (if any): It can be installed on the rear windshield to ensure a clear view.
3. Connect power
Use cigarette lighter: If the vehicle has a cigarette lighter socket, you can directly plug in the power cord of the camera.
Power from the fuse box: If you want to achieve 24-hour monitoring, you can connect the power cord to the fuse box. Choose a fuse that is always on to ensure that it can still supply power when the vehicle is turned off.
Direct battery connection: If there is no other choice, you can connect the power cord directly to the battery, but you need to install a fuse to prevent short circuit.
4. Routing and fixing
Route: Route the power cable and video cable along the interior decoration of the car to avoid exposure and keep it neat. You can use a crowbar to stuff the cable into the gap.
Fix the camera: Use double-sided tape or the included bracket to fix the camera in the predetermined position to ensure that the camera is stable and not easy to fall off.
5. Test function
Power-on test: After connecting the power supply, turn on the vehicle power and test whether the camera is working properly. Check whether the recording, photo taking and other functions are normal
6. Adjust the angle
Adjust the camera angle: Make sure the camera is aimed at the correct angle of view. The front camera should be able to clearly capture the road ahead, and the rear camera should be able to monitor the situation behind.
7. Complete the installation
Organize the cables: Make sure all cables are neatly stored and do not affect driving safety.
Check all functions: Confirm that all functions are normal, including recording, playback, parking monitoring, etc.
With the above steps, you can successfully install the dashcam on the vehicle, improve driving safety and record important events during driving. There may be slight differences between different device types, please refer to the manual. If you are not familiar with the circuit or installation process, it is recommended to seek help from a professional.
