Proper Car Washing Steps at Home:

  1. Wet the car several times with water, or use a high-voltage battery car washing machine to rinse away mud and sand, starting from the roof and paying special attention to the wheels, brake discs, fenders, and grille.

  2. Pour a bucket of clean water, then add car wash liquid according to the dilution ratio in the instructions. Stir with a cleaning sponge to create plenty of foam.

  3. Wipe the car body with a cleaning sponge. The washing order should be: roof, hood, trunk, sides, lights, bumpers, and then wheels. This prevents secondary contamination of the car body with mud and sand.

  4. Rinse the foam off the car with clean water using a high-pressure water gun or a battery car wash machine, ensuring thorough cleaning from top to bottom.

  5. After washing the car body, wipe it dry with a towel, then open the doors and trunk to allow the car to air dry.

  6. Use a car wash towel to clean areas that were not previously cleaned, such as the rearview mirrors and door edges.

Regular Car Washing Frequency: Generally, washing your car twice a month is sufficient. If your vehicle encounters dust, mud, or heavy rain, you should wash it as soon as possible.

The best time to wash and wax your car is under cover of darkness. If this is not possible, choose a cloudy day or a sunny morning or evening.

Car Washing Precautions

  1. Use soft water when washing your car, and avoid using hard water with a high mineral content.

  2. Use a dedicated car wash liquid. Never use soap or dishwashing liquid, as these products are highly alkaline and can cause the paint to lose its shine, create uneven color, age sealant rubber, and accelerate metal corrosion at areas where the paint has peeled off.

  3. When using a pressure wash, the water pressure should not be too high, generally not exceeding 7 MPa. Maintain a distance of at least 15 cm between the nozzle and the car body.

  4. When cleaning the car’s painted surface, never use brushes or rough cloths to avoid scratching the paint film and leaving marks. 5. All car washing steps should follow a top-to-bottom principle: roof, front and rear hoods, sides, lights, bumpers, side skirts, wheels, etc.

  5. Do not wash your car in direct sunlight.

  6. Do not wash your car in extremely cold weather, as water droplets can freeze and cause paint damage.

  7. After washing with car wash liquid, rinse thoroughly using a lithium car wash gun; do not be careless.

  8. After washing, use a towel with long fibers to dry the car. The long fibers will absorb dirt and prevent scratching the paint.

  9. Remove any dust or impurities from the car body promptly to prevent staining the paint.

  10. Paint surfaces with prolonged contact with asphalt or tar will develop stains due to the action of organic compounds; these should be removed immediately.

  11. In addition to the car body, other parts of the car also require frequent washing, but less often, and different cleaning agents should be used. For car windows, use a cleaner containing a high amount of isopropyl alcohol, and keep away from fire sources when using it; for car electrical circuits, use a solvent-based safe cleaner, which is highly volatile and can maintain the insulation performance of electrical circuits, and should not be cleaned with water.
